Thanks for that Nova! Good to see more people checking in from time to time! Perhaps this year we can do a small reunion?

Still not able to find an obituary for Morgan (aka Lord Atton). But I did find a link to a photo of his grave marker:

Hello everyone,

I am alive and in good health. My fur is ever more gray, yet my memory of you all has not faded any.

I gained some weight over the last years (not too much -thank God-, I still look good) but my sedentary work and the little free time left after it are not helping.

Also, my limited free time allows me not enough (time) to sit at the PC and plan to do entertaining stuff like playing videogames or program in C++ as I used to -- which is kind of maddening when considering the pretty good hardware I have assembled my current PC with.

I am hoping to change things.
At the very least my job is going well.

I no longer am a paramedic. Well, my certification expires on March 29th this year, so -technically- I still am one, but I no longer have the time to dedicate to the ambulance. Which is a shame. It allowed me to see and learn so much; things I could not have otherwise. For example I could observe the CoViD-19 and its most devastating effects from very up close.
I thank Lady Luck for having spared me and my relatives from the infection.

It is sad to read about what happened to Lord Atton, truly. He and I exchanged a few e-mails years ago.
I did not know Lunfal, but he certainly died far too young.
Life can be very unjust. May their souls rest in peace.

-fox

I don't think I've heard from LadyE for at least 15 years.

BBKing has been around more recently than that. He's the one who organized and hosted the 2013 Reunion HAT. But I haven't heard from him for quite some time.

Thanks Nova, Sad to hear, I am sure there are more after all 20 years is a long time.. We all know Master died a long time ago, and now these 2 legends, I am sure they and the others are on a private hat somewhere just waiting for the rest of us!

Talking about waiting, you never did answer my question about LadyE

Also, I have a technical question but ill make a new topic.. I am sure you will know the answer.

I guess this is as appropriate a place as any.
Here are the details that I have:

First, Lunfal (aka Dallas Blou Coutlee) who lived in western Canada and died December 13th 2021 at the tender age of 37.

https://www.dignitymemorial.com/en-ca/obituaries/chilliwack-bc/dallas-coutlee-10495044

Dallas contracted Sarcoidosis. It's a rare systemic disease which randomly attacks your organs. I'm not sure when he was first diagnosed but he suffered from it mightily for about the last year or so of his life. At one point he was pushing a shopping cart into a grocery store and literally blacked out mid-stride like flipping off a light switch, hitting his face on both the cart and the pavement on the way down to the ground. He woke up in the emergency room with no idea what had even happened. His face was so messed up that he looked like he had been mauled by a bear.

According to Dallas, about 70% of patients never need treatment at all and the disease simply diminishes on its own. In about 20% of cases, the patient will need periodic medical interventions and treatments for the rest of their life but otherwise will continue onward with their life as normal. And for the remaining 10% the disease will continually progress and proves to be fatal with an average life expectancy of just 5 years post-diagnosis. Dallas, unfortunately, was part of the unlucky 10%.

As for Lord Atton (aka Morgan Everts Chapman II) I don't actually have a link to his obituary (and I haven't been able to find one either). I learned of his passing via a FaceBook post by one of his Toomstone bandmates (Morgan was a life-long bass player).

Morgan was born September 6th 1942 and died Thursday September 27th 2018 (aged 76). I know he had been in ill health for several years prior though I don't know from what exactly. I never learned a certain cause of death but heard rumors that it was a heart attack.

After his passing I also learned that Morgan had actully played with Gregg and Duane Allman in the late 1960s in a band called Hour Glass and that he had been invited by them (before they formed the world-famous Allman Brothers band) to travel from California to Muscle Shoals Alabama with them. But Morgan was just a teenager then and didn't want to leave what he considered HOME. So he declined their offer.

And that's about all I know for sure about Morgan's passing. If anyone else knows more, please post it to this thread.

Hola Nova!

Glad to hear you are doing well!

Very sad to hear about Lord Atton and Lunfal, would like to see their obituary if possible.

Also wondering about some other people that have disappeared I guess, LadyE, spent a lot of time chatting late at night (for my time zone anyhow), always such a lovely person.

Also BBking, one of the first hats I joined, showed me the ropes a bit, and apparently had great music taste (I was too young to realize at the time)

There are many more, but I guess i just never saw those 2 again after a while...

I still have a couple of people on facebook these days, if you want to add me just send me a message, might be fun to catch up via chat there.

It's strange Nova.. It's been what 20 years? And yet I still think about this game and the people, I guess it was a lot of late nights leveling up (on auto) and just chatting the night away...in a different language for me with people from all over the world...great experience.

This game brought me something else too, I collect tribal items/figures/weapons these days, I even have some "real" magic staffs (made by the batak people in Indonesia) they don't do a great fw though.. But I guess you can't have everything... and also just looking for a nice prissy staff..if anyone knows where to find one? Also looking for tele book ... I hear lvl 4 Necros have a change to drop them... rare though.. cheers Julien

Hey Defiant !!!

Yes, I too occasionally check in here hoping to see some of the old gang.

Sadly, that gang is shrinking in size. For instance, both Lord Atton and Lunfal have gone to that great ROM2 game in the sky. I meant to post the news back when each of them happened....but just decided not to.

I can share their obituary details if anyone wants them.

So as not to end this post on a sour note, I can assure everyone that I am doing GREAT!! My health has radically improved over the past 10 years or so. So that's good news (I think).

Catch you all in the next post.....

Have been coming back here every couple of years, thought I'd make a post just to see who is still peaking here!(like me) Hope you guys (and gals) are doing good.

Don't forget to leave a reply if you still come back here.

Cheers
Defiant
