I still have a res extractor.... i think it is called " Resource game viewer v1.0 ) someone should have my email if you need it..

I still have loads of old patched, maps etc so if anyone is looking for something i might have it.

hmm I was hoping that Tommy would post his 1920x1080 patch he seems to have working. For now I will use the 1024 argument. hopefully he remembers to check this post at some point

Yep, those are the same ones.

BTW....it looks like the WaybackMachine snapshot of FF's web site is back online too...

Oh, now I remember.

Make shortcut of rom2.exe file.
R-click on it and go to Properties > Shortcut.
Simply add to Target " 1024" (without the quotes).
I'm afraid 1024 will be the highest possible resolution.

Same as NOVA's I guess

I think I found the RES patches that FF used to host. It's a small zip file with 3 files that automatically adjust your registry entries for three preset screen resolutions....1024....800.....600

If those are the files you were after....I have them after all....found them in an old archive folder on my new backup external HDD.

Unfortunatley none of those sites are hosting the res patch. sadly my little website doesnt have it either. I am going to hope Tomy posts the patch that he used.

It appears that even the WAY-BACK MACHINE is no longer registering a snapshot of FireFly's old web site. And the original site is frozen just like my page temporarily was (I think freewebs must do a periodic house cleaning and only keep ACTIVE sites live). So unfortunately I have no idea if those files are even available anywhere on the internet anymore. I certainly do not have them. But maybe somebody did grab them (maybe BBKing or Simon Dekker has them).

What I can offer is a few other sites that have some cool ROM2 stuff. For posterity's sake, here are a handful of ROM2 related web sites for which I do still have the URL (and they all appear to still be alive):

There you go...now you all have every ROM2 URL that I still have (everything that survived my two HDD crashes that is).

I would like to take you up on that offer for the 1920x1080 patch. 800x600 messes with my monitors

Firefly used to have a nice web page that had utilities for changing game resolution (plus a handful of other stuff). However, that web page appears now to be deacivated.

However, there is a snapshot of it in the WayBack Machine which has the files. Check it out if you need any of the stuff:

That's great and someone surely is gonna want the patch so don't wait and just upload it to the site. Am I the only one that thinks the original resolution is the best though? The immersion and old school feel it's causing are really adding to the experience, wouldn't want to change that for easier map navigation.

Hi guys,

I just managed to patch the rom2.exe so it will put the game in 1920x1080.

Anyone still got a .res-extractor?

I wrote one years ago but seriously doubt I have it still...NOVA, do you have one? :)

The reason I want it is so that I can fix the GUI so it looks better in the new high resolution.

Everything is "fine" as it is, but the stats window is aligned to the bottom and the right hand HUD is not long enough to stretch to the screen.

All in all it doesn't look that bad ;)
