Simon's Allods & Legends v2 NWN server goes LIVE one week from today. So get NWN installed on your computers and get ready to go. The race for first person to complete the Final Challenge is about to begin.

Wow!! Don't everybody crowd the front row at the same time!!! Um, is anybody actually out there?!! Is anyone willing to accept the Allods & Legends challenge??

OK, the good news is...I pretty much have Simon's module "ready for prime time". I've playtested, modified, and playtested it some more until my fingers are raw and my keyboard is wearing thin. There are still loads of micro issues remaining (mostly just tiny remnants and item descriptions left over from the Rhun module that really need to get removed some day), but the core of Allods & Legends is now fully functional and ready to be hosted on a Persistent World NWN server for a multiplayer environment.

To play, you'll simply need the core NWN game (updated to v1.69) and the two core game expansions (SoU and HotU). And since Gamespy is no longer supported by Bioware, CD Keys simply have to be different than anyone else playing on the same server. The server hosting a module still requires unique keys even if the master server no longer exists. But any NWN keygen works to spit those out or you can likely find valid keys out there in the "public domain". If you need help finding the game itself or CD keys or checking to be sure your game works prior to the server launch, just let me know. I'll do what I can to help.

I plan for the server GO LIVE about two weeks from now (Hanukkah to be exact) and intend to run it through to New Years Day. That's basically 2 weeks (1 week straddling either side of Christmas).

For those of you who don't know, the premise behind Simon's module is a build up to a Final Challenge which you must discover, prepare for, and ultimately defeat (if you can). Bragging rights will go to the first person to defeat that final challenge and prove they've done it (neither Simon nor I are eligible for these bragging rights).

I hope to see a lot of you there. And I hope Simon will join us so he can see what I've done to his module.

At the moment I am contemplating hosting Simon Dekker's excellent "Allods & Legends" NWN module as a replacement for the 2014 Christmas (reunion) ROM2 HAT since I don't think anyone is planning one for this year.

Simon's created his module with the intention that it would be played solo, so I'm having to make a few tweaks to make it compatible for server hosting and multiplayer. I've been playtesting it extensively for the past couple of weeks and I'm squashing any flaws, bugs or exploits I come across. I'm sure I won't catch them all, but oh well, I think I've found most of the nasty ones at least.

So here's the catch (and the reason for this post): I'm wondering how many of you are:

1) still out there reading this forum who

2)have (or can get) the NWN game and all the expansions (NO CEP or HAKs required) and

3) would be interested in playing Allods & Legends over this year's holiday season

My current plan is to host this thing from Hanukkah through New Year's Eve (about 2 weeks straddling Christmas).

So if you're out there and would be interested (or have any other thoughts or criticisms), speak up and post something. I wanna hear from ya.
