I know this thread is old, but I just want to complete the spell book creation.

You can create book using this command:

#create Book TYPE { teachSpell=SPELL }

TYPE values:

- Air
- Water
- Fire
- Earth
- Astral

SPELL values:

- Fire_Arrow
- Fire_Ball
- Wall_of_Fire
- Protection_from_Fire
- Ice_Missile
- Poison_Cloud
- Blizzard
- Protection_from_Water
- Acid_Stream*
- Lightning
- Prismatic_Spray
- Invisibility
- Protection_from_Air
- Darkness*
- Light*
- Diamond_Dust**
- Wall_of_Earth
- Stone_Curse

* you can learn, but you can't select.

1. Spells are case sensitive.
2. You don't need to match book type with spell type. You can create a Air Book that teatches a fire spell.

Examples:

Book of Air that teaches Fire Arrow
#create Book Air { teachSpell=Fire_Arrow }

Book of Water that teaches Protection from Water
#create Book Water { teachSpell=Protection_from_Water }

Some times in ROM hat there was grand cheater called Nightfyre. Ask him for best cheats! :)))

Three comments:

1. In case no one caught it, the number after the : is the spell level. For instance, :50 will cast the spell as a mage with 50 skill in that spell.

2. Be careful with the spell levels. Many of the spells have a maximum level over which the effects actually roll over a top and wind up being worse. For instance, I believe Blizzard maximum is 249 because 250 becomes worse. You'll have to test extensively to know what the workable maximums are for each spell. If you find the maximums, perhaps you will post them in this thread.

3. I never wrote it down, but my memory says the way to make a spell book is to use this example:

{teachSpell=Blizzard}

The person who uses this item will destroy the item and will simultaneously add the spell to their spellbook.

to put in magic to items

example:

#create Elven Magic Wood Staff {castSpell=Prismatic_Spray:500}

Other spells are:
Lightning
Fire_Ball
Diamond_Dust (Stone Missile)
Ice_Missile
Drain_Life
Blizzard
Acid_Stream
Fire_Arrow
Fire_Wall
Stone_Curse

500 there is the maximum spell level. If you put 501, it will revert to spell level 1.

I haven't found the way to create Spell Books yet.. Has anyone done it?

I would add to the #summon commands the following:

You can change the level of the monster you summon by putting a .# after the monster name. Example:

#summon Dragon.5 will summon a level 5 dragon. If you leave the .# off, it defaults to a level 1 monster

You can also summon multiple monsters in one command by putting the number of monsters in front of the monster name. Example:

#summon 43 Dragon.3 will summon 43 level 3 dragons. I would advise caution with this because you can kill the game with massive lag if you try to summon too many at a time. The game has to spawn every one of them AND find a spot on the map to put them all and it has to do so very fast.

Found a site on internet where a few of the cheat codes are noted (but only a few)...

I'll copy/paste the text below....but wanted to give proper credit where the information came from first.



When on a game map press the Enter key to bring up the flashing prompt in the lower left corner of the screen. Then type either ##Coward, or #Coward, depending on which version of ROM2 you are playing.

This will enable the use of any of the following codes until you restart or reload.

Summoning Monster Allies

Press the Enter key, type any of the following, and press the Enter key again.

#summon Squirrel
#summon Wolf
#summon Turtle
#summon Spider
#summon Ghost
#summon Necromancer
#summon Ogre
#summon Troll
#summon Succubus
#summon Dragon

So, to summon a Dragon, type the following at the prompt: #summon Dragon Then press the Enter key again. You now have a Dragon Ally.

How to make magic items.

Scrolls:

Press the Enter key, type any of the following, and press the Enter key again.

#create Scroll Spell_Name

So, to create a scroll of Invisibility you would type: #create Scroll Invisibility

The more powerful spells require a slighlty different code.

#create SuperScroll spell_name

So, to create a scroll of Fire Ball you would type: #create SuperScroll Fire_Ball Magic Weapons, Armor, and Staves. They all follow the same basic template.

If an Item is made of Wood, it either has no prefix, or it's prefix is uncommon.

Steel is Uncommon. An item that is Mithral, or better, is Very Rare. The formats are:

#create rarity material item {spellcast=spell_name:spellstrength} and
#create rarity material item {modifier=modifier strength}

The best way to explain this is by showing examples. To make a Crystal Long Sword that Drains Life. #create Very Rare Crystal Long Sword {castSpell=Drain_Life:27}

This will create a Crystal Long Sword that Drains life when it hits. The Damage of the Drain Life will be equal to that cast by a Mage with a skill of 27 in Astral. Extra enchantments are separated by commas with no space after them

To make the same sword, but have it also do 7 extra damage. #create Very Rare Crystal Long Sword {castSpell=Drain_Life:27, Damage=7-7}

To make a Staff of Fire Ball: #create Uncommon Wood Staff {castSpell=Fire_Ball:33} The Damage of the Fire Ball will be equal to that cast by a Mage with a skill of 33 in Fire.

To make a Crystal Plate Cuirass that provides extra Body, and more Absorbtion: #create Very Rare Crystal Plate Cuirass {Absorbtion=5,Body=7} The armor will have +5 Absorb, and give +7 Body to the wearer. To make an Adamantium Crossbow that Drains LIfe: #create Very Rare Adamantium Crossbow {castSpell=Drain_Life:35} The Damage of the Drain Life will be equal to that cast by a Mage with a skill of 35 in Astral.

The modifiers I have tested so far are: Absorbtion Speed Spirit Astral Damage (note that 7 damage is written as Damage=7-7, while everything else is Modifier=7. Damage is written differently for some reason).

The spells I have tried are: every spell with the words separated by an underscore, and the first letter capitalized. So, it's not fireball, it's Fire_Ball. Spell Power(the number after the colon) I have tested from 1 to 99.

Notes: All codes are case sensitive. The maximum number of enchantments I have tested is two. If the code is not perfect, it will either fail, or create a nonmagical item that will crash the game when equipped. Properly enchanted items never do this.

Forgive me if I get the syntax wrong because I'm going by pure memory here and it's been at least 4 years since I used any of the cheat codes... Unfortunately, getting the EXACT syntax is crucial to making the cheat codes work. I have old old notes somewhere and will try to dig them out later tonight once I am home.

As to your first question, you type the magical stats you want your item to have inside braces { } after the actual item (separate multiple magical properties by a comma). For example:

#create Very Rare Dragon Leather Boots {body=2,defence=100,absorb=25}

OR

#create Very Rare Crystal Ring {price=2,body=25,spirit=15,healthregeneration=100}

Somewhere out on the internet, most of the syntax for all the magical properties in the game was recorded for posterity (if you can find it). As I said, I also have most of it in my personal notes taken over about 10 years of playing ROM2 (also if I can find them).


As to your second quetion...I think the syntax is:

#create Potion Body
#create Potion Spirit
#create Potion Mind
#create Potion Agility

In many cases the CAPITAL letters are necessary to the syntax. Only in a handful of situations are the capital letters optional. When in doubt, try playing around with the command syntax and capital letters to see if you can get it to work. If you are gung-ho, you can also rip the syntax of the cheat commands out of your world.res file (it's located in the folder where you installed your ROM2 game). Much of the game information is contained in that file, though it is compressed and about 90% of it is in hex code. You can however read about 10% of it as ASCII, the other 90% will yield it's information by using a hex editor. P.S. you can edit this file and actually change the in-game stats for virtually everything in the ROM2 game. For example, say you want Potions of Body to add +5 body instead of +1...you can edit the world.res file and make that so. Say you want level 5 spiders to only do 1000 max damage instead of 2040 max damage, you can edit that as well. It's not easy because it's all mashed together hex code....but it can be deciphered and edited. I would suggest you make a backup copy of the file before you attempt any such edits.

Try those cheats out and see if I got the syntax right. Hopefully that answers you specific questions. As I said, I'll post more from my notes if/when I can find them later tonight (or at least in the next few days).

I have been playing ROM 2 again. I have finished it lot of times with out cheats, but now I want to really enjoy it by overpowering my characters. Well I already know the cheats how to make the items. What I am interested is how to give them magical abilities and the such. And I am also wondering what is the cheat in order to get potion of body/mind/spirit/reaction?
