I'll pass on my reward cuirass...I already have 2 or 3 of the normal ones from Medusa's Garden and those have earth pro on them. If you wanna roll this over and offer this up as the reward for the next special weekend or whatever that would be cool.

There has been no maprotation during the last few weeks, because the horror maps are hardly accessed.

Nova did not claim his questcuirass yet. Need to know what res he wants before I add it to his account.

I took the Arena server offline. It was meant to practice questmaps, or to duel, but no one has used it.

There are 12 confirmed accounts. Now and than 1 or 2 log on. It's clear that players who don't see anybody else online won't play for a long time. You guys have to make this yourself: Be there, even if it's on AFK, and show others that this game is still worth playing.

Some maps are even dangerous without PK'ers online. Some creatures may not always act friendly... Take care.

Looks like no one is able to get the armor in Medusa's garden... I suppose it can only be done with a team? Should I make it easier than since its not possible to teamup with little players around?

And another update:

-Added a horror version of Aliwar to the horrormaps
-Added a completely revised version of Paradise Quest to the hardmaps
-Added an Arenaserver where you can practice the map Medusas garden, or duel each other :)

Update:
Start of the Earthly warrior set. 3 items ready, 3 to go.
This set will provide warriors with protection earth, body, healthregeneration and absorbtion. Also some extra defence.
Ironically this set will probably be easy to get with magicians. Teleport should be forbidden, lol!

Also Diabolic Machine has rotated questmaps. Old Lith is updated with 1 more lvl4 map.

Weird, because I tried this too of course when creating this map, and my mage kept dying mostly before I could enter the island, but also by misjumps on a square with an invisible lich, or a square with a phased in spider next to it... But I did not try to pull away the monsters with an army of summoned turtles I admit.
Anyway, now that it's so easy, no reason to complain about the mage set lol!

i can only confirm what Nova said, except that it took me just 2 minutes
the lich was clearly visible and the flying brigade didn't touch me one bit
so, with the gloves the whole mage set gives 1700 hp and only 800 mana
i can't say i'm impressed lol

Hehe, ok try at your own risk. A few reminders anyway:
-The lich maybe invisible on the island.
-If he moves to the tp square he will be teleported of course, making it much harder.
-Same for the player making a wrong move, -e.g. teleproting on the invisible lich (no he does not constantly stand still like a statue)
-The phasing in group... Consider the phasing range and the position of the island.

What are you talking about "won't always be where you expect"? I just told you how to MAKE him go precisely to the center isle as if you commanded him to do so. And he teleports to an island surrounded by water that is only 4 squares in size. One square is a teleport spot, so avoid that one. One spot the lich is on. That leaves two more spots for you to teleport onto and whoop his ass.

All the logic is doing is phasing a few monster groups in or out based upon the location and live/dead status of the lich and/or the weak mage up by where the lich starts. And a few of the logic elements change the diplomacy of two dragons based on the lich and if you've already killed one of the two dragons (the dragons start out non-hostile).

And trust me, it IS as easy as I made it out to be. I got the mage gloves in about 5 minutes.

And yes the skele and spiders are there. They phase in when the lich has left his "home" spot. But they are all on the outer rim of the small island surrounded by water. None of the spiders can even reach you.

And you can easily teleport to the island from large distances using the sight range of either a summons or raised ghosts. Have a boat load of summons approach from one side (simultaneously drawing the spiders out and giving you sight range to the center island both at the same time). You can gain sight of the center island long before all your summons can all be killed. Or you can just double hop teleport quickly to a relatively safe spot on the outer edge of the water....then 2nd hop is to the center. The surrounding monsters can't attack fast enough to kill you in that time. Certainly not if they are swarming to your summons on the other side of the island.

Understanding the logic is important. Yes, you can use Nova's trick but it isn't so easy as he claims. Unless you have a very huge sightrange, and are able to tp huge distances, a mage will almost certainly die before you are able to tp on the island. And than there's more... The lich won't always be where you expect him. Again, without a huge sightrange you are unable to determine this in time (frowning suspisiously).

Check top middle....lich 5 standing next to the tower.

The map was pretty easy. Don't tell Simon (hehe). Ignore most of the fancy map logic and just teleport to the river edge behind the lich. Blast him with a fireball and he walks out of him home spot. As soon as he's more than 2 map squares from his home spot (really one spot above him), he teleports to the center grid. Just buzz on down there and teleport in beside him. You can whoop his ass real easy and there are only a couple monsters that can even attack you across the water (though they're not really a threat). Yes group 7 has now phased in, but so what....it's mostly spiders and they can't reach you across the water.

And shazaam....body +5 mage gloves. At most it will take you 5 minutes to get 'em and most of that time is spent just running around the damned map. You never fight anyone besides the lich.

Lol, modding takes lots of time. It seems to work now. For Body at least. Was also able to upgrade a +3 ring to +4 :)

for a moment i was hoping you were wrong NOVA
i left map and in the char screen it still showed 86 body ;)
however, upon entering a map it did indeed revert back
what's next?

Tiny problem....

When you leave the map, all items revert back to the standard body 3 limit.

Body items in shops now up to body 4; Spirit up to spirit 4. Mand and agility remain the same (could not change that without error notification in server startup).

This repairs what I consider a 'missing link': the gab between regular horror (up to like 3000 hp) and questmaps (where you need 6000+ xp at least if you play solo - which most of us do with so little players around). This way every player is able to gather gear for horror.

Its not split up, it does not excist anymore :))

Current set items are of a new set. Sets only consist of armor, and provide good basic attributes for horror. Together with jewelry (spread out over many maps) and weapons one can create a really powerfull chrs. And of course its possible to replace parts of a set by other items, either quest items or upgrades.

too bad you chose to split the tomb gear, of which 3 pieces to be found somewhere on horror maps.
and the staffs just taken away alltogether.

Hatprogress:

Today added 2 maps for the necromancer mage gear set, and changed the reward in Repulsive Barony to complete the set. Setitems can be found in:

-Isles of destiny: dress
-The tomb: cloak and cap
-Town of heaven: shoes
-Repulsive barony: gloves

Next is a set of warrior items. Basically warrior items can already be found in existing maps, so creating a set is low priority. During the next weeks (months?) I’ll change some existing maps and re-adjust the items to match with the sets. There will be at least one Godly item in a remake of the map Moonlight: Eye of the Moon. But you have to be very patient (maybe I hurry a bit more when I see more players online ;))

There will be some changes in gameplay too. In the near future it will be possible to buy higher body items and higher mind items, but lower agility items. Spirit remains unchanged. You can upgrade according to the same values.

The last thing to perform is the very boring job of upgrading hat security according to Ex-lend’s list. I’m delaying this time after time because I don’t like all the typing and testing out, and because with only 2 or 3 players around its not much of an issue.

So what’s the status of the hat?

Currently, with so little players online, this is a low priority project. The hat is running, I’ll check every day if it is, and restart it when something went wrong. In the weekend (mostly on Friday) servers rotate some maps. Sometimes an adjusted version of a map will replace an older version. When I have the spirit I’ll see if I can make some new maps, but that is merely a hobby project, aside from the hat.
