| BBKing: welcome back! Until now Nova was unable to log on to my hat, no matter if it was on Hamachi or not, no matter if it was the old hatprogram, or Ex-lends program. In the best variation he can create an account and a chr, but not login to a server. I think I know why: I set all server IP's to local network: 192.168.xxx.xxx. In this setting I can play from another computer with both the 192 ip and my real internet ip 62.179.xxx.xxx. But Nova told me this would not work for traffic outside my local network. Yesterday, late at night, we tried a differend setup with the Hamachi ip's filled in: 5.52.251.77. This did not work then, because I forgot to configere the rom2server config file, so it still had the local 192 ip. That is corrected now. Following Atton's advice I now configered the rom2server config and the server.cfg file (the one with the maps) with the hamachi ip only. Currently I'm installing hamachi on a 2nd pc, to see if it can connect to the hat with my hamachi ip. For testing I would appreciate if some guys from Europe would participate. Now I only have some late nights contacts with Nova, not exactly the best time of the day to do a lot of testing. At the moment 1 map is running on the old rom2server software. Login with test/test or sigh/sigh. |

| Glitch worked around. Had autoregister turned off. When a client without a known login tried to connect their game freezes since the rom_hat doesn't send the no account error to the client...turned autoregister on as a workaround |

| hi there, long time no see :) I forgot my bbKing's password for this forum, so I logged in as ezRider. I've read most of latest posts. Good to see quite a few people active here! I've been playing Baldur's Gate II, single player that is, as a sorcerer. The use of magic is awesome but also quite difficult. At least even the toughest monsters are beatable, unlike in rom2 lol. I might be playing rom2 again some day, if there are people to play with. would be nice. Albadaran, you can count me in when your hat is up and running. I wonder if i can get rom2 to work again. Anyway, I keep in touch. |

| I would like to test if players in Atton's hamachi network can access my hat: NtD. You can log on with any new accountname and password, as long as you keep the same password for that account. It's only a test, chr's will be deleted when testing is over. |

| My HAT is more or less complete...however I am having the same problems where when a player tries to go to a difficulty it is locked out of, they are booted from the game...server doesn't crash, other players can still connect, but the player that crashed is locked out of the HAT...(hat shows as unresponsive to them) atm all my files are geared towards ex-lend's HAT... so until I have time to switch over to the old HAT or the new software gets fixed, that's how things stand. The HAT is online..those who had an account and characters before still have them. website: ruinhat.com just be careful, this does not work as a denial of service as only the one account gets locked out...so if you screw up, it's on you. (still lots of work to do on the website, but everything pretty much works) |

| Good idea Albadaran. The Inn- Quest system was a good thing. I have not really utilized it much in the maps I have on-line. I do plan on using it as I develope the GreenWorld Server maps. Yes Body 5 for warriers is a good thing. 8 things that could have body 5. With pots in the quests that would be a potential of a body of 90. Still there are maps and areas even a level 94 body warrier can't handle. I should know. For Mages there a 6 things for a potential of 30 to body. Mages have much lower body. With pots mages have 48 + 30 = 70. If we used body 7 for mages that would give a body of 90 also. I have body 100 mages and many of them still can't deal with all areas of horror maps. That would help. If the quests are doable solo sounds like your on the right track. Lord Atton |

| Lol! Looking around there's not much need to be in a hurry. Or is the Russian hat overpopulated? Currently I'm waiting for solutions to run a hat behind a router/firewall. Ex-Lend's hatprogram has some nice features, but it seems its not a good alternative for Hamachi. Probably I'll end up with a Hamachi hat AND Ex-lend's program. But I'm in no hurry at all :) Meanwhile I'm busy selecting maps, and considering to alter some of them. I also have 1 main issue on my wish list: to set back the old quest-inn reward system where we could upgrade items up to level 5 body, spirit, etc. I would like this because players should have a way to get high end stuff by playing solo. Because I actually don't see it happen that playerparties will beat questmaps. Too little players online! Anyway, bottomline is that there is still much work to do before I'll host a hat. I'll probably ask you sooner or later to test it on your Hamachi network before the real hat starts. |
