sound like you want a different game than rom2

but rom2 is made like it is -- quick to learn hard to master

if you seek game where you build character how you want i am told nwn is good

Thanks exlend

I will try to reach him. He might prove useful to your project. I am glad to see someone taking on this project. I had ideas along the same lines. I don't fully understand by Nival dropped the ball here. Serge was too involved is other games to work on any further development of Rom or Rom2. They instead when to mass little chrs much like Diablo and Starcraft. Thats not the kind of game I want. I want a game that I can make a chr I want and build him up. Rom2 is crude by todays standards, but it allows you to develope your chr. A chr that you can identify with. Too many games miss that point.
If there is any thing I can do to help you let me know. I love Rage of Mages. It's why I still play it. Besides it fun.

Vladimir,

Hello. my name is Lord Atton of the GreenWorld. I am a long time player and server owner for Rom and Rom2. I began playing Rom and fell in love with the art and beauty of the game. When Monolith put up a Hat server I joined and played on it. I was a top player although perhaps not the greatest. I started running games on my computer. When Rom2 came out I was playing it and enjoying. Taking code apart and customizing Rom and then Rom2. I loved making swords and clothing with outrageous body and stats. I wrote Sergio at Nival and communicated with Elena his assistant frequently. I worked with Vampire to write a ROM2 Walk-Through. Helped him with the English version. Ran the GreenWorld Hat from 2000 to 2004. Today I am poised to open a Hat again. Over the years I have tried to get Nival to make a Rage of Mages Three (Rom3) I wanted to get the source code for the game. Unfortunately I was never able to get the source coding. Yes I know I could reverse engineer it. That would give me alot of the code but not everything. If I had the time I could probably develop new items and monsters for the game. I even wanted to have a 3D version like Evil Island. I know Vampire developed many mods for Rom2. He was working on a updated version of Rom2. I am wondering if you know where I can find Vampire. I used to have his email, but time and distance have separated us from communication. He used to have a website. I am a musician in a band in the USA.
But I am going to open a Rom2 Hat late in Jan or early Feb. I am interested in any game mods and code changes.
If you know Vampire or have his email would ask him to contact me or give me his email. If you are a programmer and interested in working on Rom2 or Allods2 I would like to know.
Thank you,

Lord Atton

Not sure if you remember me Ex-lend, but I was the lone American you allowed onto your allods2.25 project. I go by the online name of NOVA. Sadly, my time on the Allods 2.25 project was all too brief and my ability to provide useful assistance was all too limited.

I think it's fantastic you are here on our english forum because I know you to be a GREAT programmer with tremendous experience writing fixes for the allods game. Perhaps we can convince you to write some fixes for the english rom2 game as well (or at least teach us how to make some changes). I know I would personally very much like to have someone teach me how to decipher more assembly code to figure out what a program is doing.

Regarding a list of known ROM2 game bugs, I have a written list at home (I'm at work now). I'll try to post that list when I get home tonight. It's just a list of known problems I have compiled over the years so there may be more that I don't know about or forgot to write down. The list is rather long, but only a few of the problems are really serious ones.

Later

-- vladimir

we need fix for hat-router problem -- and game bug-fixes too

if you or who-for-you could provide them there would be more hats to track for your project

rom2 attract people to this day
it never stopped -- as i understand

but people do not stay because game is bugged and hat is for few

there is a pool of potential players on this side of the world -- but without fixes they stay potential

you understand -- i know
can you help?

this forum is all that's left of the english spoken rom2 community, since the old lith forum was spammed
thanks to Ronnie
the hat list (in english) would be a good idea if there were enough english speaking players
as it is, i doubt it will be useful for us here, regrettably
