That is a bizarre problem I've never seen before. Therefore, I don't have much for advice to offer. But if by chance it is specific to the LEVEL of the map played (bizarre though that seems to me), there may be a brute force way around that. FireFly made some utility patchers that will override the automatic map level calculation and FORCE a map to be the level you desire. You can find those utilities here:

http://www.freewebs.com/rom2/

Look for "FIX MAP LEVEL". And use the utility to force every map you wish to play to think it's and EASY level.

With a bit of luck, maybe that will not necessarily fix your issue, but at least offer you a workaround that lets you keep playing the maps you wish to play.

Good luck,
NOVA

I've been playing multi-player with my friend using a direct ethernet connection between computers (since one can't access the internet) and we've been playing an easy map, but recently we've tried playing together on a medium one. The problem is if I create a game his computer will freeze before it even shows up as an option to join. If he creates it I can click Join, but then my laptop freezes for a while before the game says "Unknown Error". This doesn't happen when we play Easy levels, only Medium or Hard.

We've been using a TCP/IP connection when we play, and I'm not sure where the issue is or whether that might be it. Any advice?
