I've been playing a while on my oldest comptuter. Hamachi works fine :) But the system is a bit unstable, some hangups in the middle of fights, must not happen when I'm in horror maps! And what's this? A guy with hacked gear? System rebooted on the moment I tried to look at it :/

Update: Ok I have finished some of the things I needed to do. I am still not quite finmished. I will start work on a new map series Starting with the capital of Encartia Corestan. The idea is is you must save the city from Orcs and other mobs. This will be an easy to hard map series. Corestan 1 Corestan 2 Corestan 3. I may add a 4th. There will be others added. Lord Atton

Simon, Nice to see you are still around. I am still running Rom2 Hat. I run it via Hamachi. It's a small free program that allows you to have a virtual IP from a dynamic ones as most IP's from providers are dynamic. You can find Hamachi in www.logmein.com or check google for Hamachi. My server runs a variety of maps. Some old and some new. I am planning a series of maps based on my Book "The Green World" Some maps deal with the towns and some deal with the wars and some are just quest maps for treasure and weapons. If you want an account on my server send me your account name (actually a number) and a password. Not alot of people playing Rom2 these days. It still is fun. You might look at Nivalonline.com and what Serge and company are doing. They have a new game "nival on line" coming out in 2009. They are Beta testing it. But it is in Russian so far. I am trying to get them to do an English version of it. If not I am willing to start work on a new program Rom3. Rage of Mages will never really die. The concept and ideas in the game are universal to all adventure/role playing games. Take care Lord Atton

The sleep option does not work on my computer: 000869EB: 00 14 <- this is sleep time in ms (14h = 20) After making all changes this setting does not make any difference. I increased the value up to 80 and than the screen freezes completely. But below there's no difference... Anyway, I dont use Vista but XP and I run rom2 through Red Pig's old rom2trainer (v1.02). An easy solution is to use my old comp :)

I'm sure there are ready maps which have never been used on hats. For instance I've never seen my 2004 maps in action: http://members.chello.nl/s.dekker/Repulsive.zip http://members.chello.nl/s.dekker/temple.ZIP Mind that Repulsive can be very tough, and temple was a startermap. With a small puzzle :) I'm thinking of playing again for a while, but I've some problems with the modern computer's speed: everytime I move the mouse to the edge of the screen, it moves way too much into the darkness lol!

May Map making plans have gotten pushed back some. Real life has taken me on a ride I did not plan on. I am looking at making some new maps and thinking about how I want to make them. They will center around the Fantasy Novel "GreenWorld" which I wrote. One map will cover the Capital Corestan. It will have shops and a Castle with many houses, a good number of Mobs to kill. Another map will center on Glover a small seaport on the coast of Encartia. Yet another will center on the desert kingdom of Kantaria and the Capital Kantar. The goal here is to win the war and defeat the Kantarian army. Stay tuned for more developments.

Nova, I don't think so, you could not get in? Not sure what might have been the problem, I do sometimes take the Hat down and restart it. If you tried to get on when I was doing that yes it could have been down. Not for long though. I did get two of the Allods2 maps up to change. Don't know why they did not seem to change. Strange, but they are rotating. I just have two new maps up. I will add more next week. Start with easy maps and some medium. They play more like our normal maps and shops here. I could modify them. My map editor works now. Eventually I may add more Russian maps. I do have their permisson to run them. Petruska has moded the res file and the maps, so it takes a long time to build a chr. I have a mage on their server Allods2. You can play on the PvM where no pking is done. Helps to build up a chr before you run around on the medium and hard maps where there is pking. Incidently most mages have no equipment on them or robes. Some players just use the spell books. They are expensive to get too. It is possible to build a chr on the Russian server. Das va Danya! Further, I tried one of the Russian maps just to see if it would run. It does, but it won't change maps in a rotation. Not sure why. Maybe Nova knows LOL. They do work. I will make my own in the theme of the Green World Novel I wrote. One map will be about Corestan the Capital of Encartia. Another Map will be about Glover and another several towns along the Coast. Spring Valley to the North and the evil with in a dark forest in the central of Encartia. That gives you and idea of what the Green World is like. The central character is Will Hammersmith. If this goes over well I may even set up a separate server for it. Take care, Lord Atton

Since I have some time I am making some new maps. I hope to have a whole series of new maps up in a few weeks. Least it will be interesting. Now that I have the map editor working I can go ahead and do more with maps. Currently I am running a number of maps easy to Horror. I probably will start with Easy maps and work up to Hard. If any one has a good maps that runs. I would be happy to host it. No mods on map. Email a copy to me. Take care all, Lord Atton
