| A recent experience on another server has prompted me to re-think about Pking and Rom2. Years back I was or became an Anti-PK. When Lith had a server up I had some 40 accounts. About 5 of them were APK's. I used to kill the PK's. I won't name all of my chrs back then, heck I forgot alot of the names, but Ironhand, Steelhead, Dick head, LOL you get the idea. Pking has always been apart of the Rom and Rom2/Allods/Allods2 game. My problem with Pking is when its done for money or items rather than for the better chr and/or player. Cheap players PK because they are lazy. They don't want to work hard to get money and items. They are in a sense "bullies" of the server. PKing can be fun when done properly and if both parties consent to a fight. I have no quarrel with that type of play. Low sneak attacks to new players and weaker players do not sit well with me; nor do Pking for items and money. In both cases these players are just lazy and "prey" on weaker players. This is especially true on servers where you are new or unknown. The real problem with this type of player behavior is that it drives away many people who would like to play servers, but are not fond of PKing or being Pked. They just want to have some "fun" playing their chrs in an on-line game. How a server is run is up to the adminstration who own or run a server(s). On the GreenWorld Pking is allowed, but I do ask the bags be retuned to the person that was PKed. I do read logs on such situations. In all the years I have run Rom2 I have never had a problem with Pk's. I expect players to be "adult" and act accordingly, not like little children who kill players "cause its fun"! I know that some players will continue to PK no matter what I or administration does. Like the bullies they are they have little respect for other players. They only give a bad name to the servers they Pk on. I think I have made my point. Lord Atton |
