The number of adventuring areas I neglected to note in my previous post is 440. There are about 440 separate adventuring regions in the World of Rhun module, so you can see how it would be easy to get lost without a map or excellent notes to guide you.

The bottom line is, the world is VERY big compared to most NWN modules. Though there are a few flaws, these are still there simply because the module was never completed. It's a snapshot of a work-in-progress, released for public consumption, and never completed. The team that put the module together has since disbanded. Several groups have picked up where the original team left off, but these teams have never released their modified modules to the general public. To enjoy these updates, you have to play on their dedicated server(s). If you search in GameSPY, you will see several versions of World of Rhun running today on dedicated NWN servers.

Okie doke....it's restarted and running now. My memory is not too good, but I think you need to have both the original NWN game plus both expansion packs (SoU and HotU) in order to play on the World of Rhun module.

You do NOT need the module in order to play. The module and all your characters reside on the server. All you need to do is JOIN INTERNET GAME and then DIRECT CONNECT to the server IP address which is 12.240.5.112

If you have any problems, email or message me at kingkota666@hotmail.com I have several files which would probably make your experience with the World of Rhun more enjoyable, such as:

- a module guide
- full color maps of the World of Rhun
- a crude area transition map I made myself

The area transition map REALLY helps out a lot when trying to navigate around the world. There are about ___ separately detailed adventure areas and the module is over 100 meg in size, so it's real easy to get lost. There are several cities and VAST underground adventuring regions. The module has around 50 separate quests your character can complete, each with a unique reward, many of them you can keep repeating. There are even unique sub-races you can play if you want.

Anyway, the server is running again....play and enjoy.

No, I took the server down after:

1. several of us finished the module (aka we maxed our characters gear and levels plus we completed all the quests)

2. no one else besides us was playing

If people wanna play, I could always put it back up. It was one hell of a fun module to play. It kept us entertained for almost 2 months. Post here or email me if you want it up again.
